Don Norman and Dieter Rams 10 ways to Good Design Response
In both Don Normans video and 10 ways to Good Design I think the main idea that simple design is good design and every object should represent what it is and shouldn’t throw you off in any way. Don Norman points out that good products last longer in our world but with how fast our world is changing things come and go and when something is designed that can actually live past that changing stage before something better comes out its probably worth your investment. Same idea is also made in the Dieter Rams article when the product is useful and long lasting. Each and every object should be well considered before investing in using all of these guidelines to help you figure out if it will be worth your money and time in the end.
Reading One Response
Design is based on the things around us from natural patterns in our earth to designed one we see in clothes. That each design has started with something we’ve been exposed to somewhere at sometime. Although it was altered and changed overtime it still all started with something that was seen before. Design is everything around us from the couch you sit on to the pavement on the road it was all designed with a purpose and an intention to look the way it is perceived. Things are designed to please humans wants and needs and that’s why it all starts with the thing we see everyday because otherwise it might come off to be new in a weird unwanted way.
